paolo manara
I have never built a handmade motorbike before. Amazzone is my first creation.
Yes, I have a passion for two-wheelers and engines, and I have a natural talent for art and manual work. At first, I would never have thought of creating such an artwork. At least, that was not my original aim.
I bought this used “beast” almost by accident.
Although, in reality, I think that nothing happens by chance. With hindsight... perhaps it was fate that drove me to meet her, just to give me the chance to seize this opportunity in a particular moment of my life.
Once home, I began to observe my “toy”. I walked around her, observing her, again and again. And so, day after day, what had initially appeared as a weak and feeble flame, gradually took life, until it turned into a brilliant idea.
And so my whole project began to take concrete form.

The choice of materials, the purchase of certain equipments... And, above all, the ideas that grew in my mind, day after day, instilling inside me an ever more urgent need to give form.

I do not set limits to my art.
I let myself be driven by the emotions I feel, and I do not restrain my artistic craftsmanship which, like a spark, has set fire to my mind.

BEGINNING

Just like the best stories, the creation of Amazzone started out a bit like that.
Almost by chance.
Paolo Manara, who has been a motoring enthusiast since childhood, in 2011 had the chance to buy a second-hand Suzuki GSX R. Observing the bike, day after day, something began to flash through his mind...

THE PASSION

The world of motors has always fascinated Paolo. In all its facets and at all levels.
To this passion, however, another must be added, that for nature and manual activities. Paolo has an innate ability to deeply understand different materials and to make any of his art fantasies come true.

THE PROJECT

And so, from two very strong passions, a project came to life.
The adrenaline-pumping world of motorbikes and the natural warmth of wood come together in a brilliant idea.
And from a simple, intangible idea, the project slowly began to take shape. From idea to action, with the purchase of machinery, equipments and materials.
Moto Amazzone
Paolo Manara was born in 1983 in Cremona, not far from Milan.
He has always been passionate about motors – in any field and sector – and has an unbridled love for motorcycling. He has always practiced it as a hobby, in all its forms. He has competed in motocross races with brilliant results. He has been racing for 12 years, with 2 victories at regional level but also several injuries. The last one, very serious, was in 2017. It was in that moment that, like a good family man, he decided to “hang up his helmet”.
His professional life was brilliant and busy. All his experiences have one common denominator: manual skills. Whatever he did, Paolo had the opportunity to put to the test what he proudly defines “an innate ability to deeply understand different materials and to make any of his art fantasies come true”.

Various vicissitudes eventually led him to work in Switzerland where he built wooden houses.
A job, but above all a great opportunity for him to fall in love with wood.
It was probably a spontaneous and inborn love, which always remained dormant because he had never had the chance to come out and make itself be heard. All it took was the right opportunity to stir something inside him and bring out the other great passion of his life.

Paolo is an all-round artist-craftsman.
He is not only building hand-made motorbikes, but any kind of furniture or interior design object.
As a good craftsman, he focuses on the quality and uniqueness of the product. His creations are unique and unrepeatable pieces. The essence of craftsmanship lies in its being conceived according to the needs of each individual.
The wide choice of shapes and finishes also allows the object to be harmonised in any stylistic context.
It rejects the uniformity typical of industrial standardisation and it is based only on high-quality materials.
If one of the main features of Amazzone is olive wood, Paolo is very familiar with other precious woods, such as oak, ash and walnut.
